We think it’s important to share images of real parents getting outside with their babies. It breaks down barriers and helps other people feel like they can be adventurous too.
But we also believe in protecting privacy, especially when it comes to babies and children. So it’s our Blaze Trails policy to cover all children’s faces in publicly shared photos, unless we have explicit permission from a parent to share a photo showing their child’s face.
Our Organisers and other walking group members regularly take photos while they are out walking. Photos of us out adventuring together are often some of our favourite photos from our babies’ first years!
When taking photos on group walks, please follow these good practices:
Let other walkers know when you’re going to take a photo so they can choose whether to be in the shot
Aim to only take photos of your own child or take photos from the back so other people’s children are not photographed face-on
If you don’t want to be in a photo, please do feel confident to say so, and move away or turn out of the shot
Share the photos with attendees after the walk in your private group so people can see the photos they’re in
If you want to share walk photos outside of the private Blaze Trails group, for example, on your own social media accounts, please cover all babies’ faces
If photos of your baby are uploaded into the private groups and you’d prefer they weren’t there, please let you local Organiser know and they can remove them
Please note, photos taken on Blaze Trails group walks that are shared within our private groups may be shared publicly on social media by the Blaze Trails team, in order to inspire and encourage other parents to get outdoors. We will always cover babies' and children's faces before publishing.
